What Will We Be Discussing?
Physician Assistants are taking a more active role in the Canadian medical system. During this presentation you will be introduced to the role and philosophy of the Physician Assistant, their education, pre-requisites, what to expect during the program, and job prospects.
Objectives of this session include:
- Develop further understanding of Physician Assistant, their role and philosophy
- Describe what to expect during the program: pre-requisites, program duration and content
- Review the various job prospects and speak to future opportunities for Physician Assistants
Who will be Speaking?
Ian Jones PA-C, MPAS is the current President of the CAPA with 14 years of experience as a PA in the United States and Canada, with a background of 17 years past experience as a Firefighter-Paramedic. Ian is on Faculty at the University of Manitoba and works in Neurosurgery at the Health Sciences in Winnipeg.
